The 101 of Your Lucid

The Lucid Owner’s Club met us at Rove for the SoCal EV’s & Dogs event.

What Type of Plugs Do You Need?

Lucid uses the CCS (Combined Charging System) plug, the standard for most non-Tesla EVs and is capable of charging at DC Fast Chargers.

Lucid Air models are designed with a 900v+ architecture, enabling them to charge at rates up to 20 miles per minute, making the most of the 350kW chargers available at Rove.

How to Charge

To begin charging the vehicle, drive to a charging location with a CCS plug configuration. Note, that the port is typically located just behind the front wheel well.

STEP 1

Turn off your car.

STEP 2

Press the charge port icon on the left cockpit panel, then select “Openings” on the Pilot Panel and press the charge port icon again.

You can also press the lower left of the charging port cover to open on some models .

STEP 3

Select the CCS plug from the charger and plug it into the port.

To use a DC Fast Charger, you may need to remove an additional plug that covers the bottom 2 pins.

101 TIPS:

  • You should hear a click when the plug is connected properly. That may require some pressure.

  • It’s always a good idea to check the plug for any damage before.

STEP 4

Initiate the charging session from the charging terminal or your Rove app.

TIP: The Lucid logo on the control box and the charge port light will pulse white to indicate that charging has began.

STEP 5

Monitor the progress of your charge from inside your vehicle’s dashboard or vehicle’s smartphone app.

Download the Rove app on Apple or Google Play.

THE 101 AT ROVE

At Rove, you can use the Rove app, which is available in the App and Google Play store, to start, end, and monitor the progress of your charge. Convenience in the palm of your hand.

STEP 6

Once your fast charge is complete, unlock the plug from your vehicle by pushing the release button near the plug port.

Wait for the light to turn off before removing the plug.
