The Basics of Ford EVs
Ford’s electric line up has grown significantly over the last few years. From the Mustang Mach-E to the F-150 Lightening, there is something at every size and horsepower. How to Charge
To begin charging the vehicle, drive to a charging location with a CCS plug configuration. Note, that the port is typically located just behind the front wheel well.
STEP 1
Turn off your car.
STEP 2
Push on the plug compartment to open the protective covering to expose the charging port.
STEP 3
Select the CCS plug from the charger and plug it into the port.
To use a DC Fast Charger, you may need to remove an additional plug that covers the bottom 2 pins.
TIPS:
You should hear a click when the plug is connected properly. That may require some pressure.
It’s always a good idea to check the plug for any damage before.
STEP 4
Initiate the charging session from the charging terminal or your Rove app.
TIP: A circular lights will begin flashing when the charging turns on, indicating the charge has started.
STEP 5
Monitor the progress of your charge from the light indicator near the plug, from inside your vehicle’s dashboard or the Ford BlueOval Charging app.
Download the Rove app on Apple or Google Play.

Charging Tips
Based on the formula of the e-Tron battery, it’s recommended to regularly charge it to 80% at DC Fast Chargers.
Some Ford EVs are eligible to charge at Superchargers using a Magic Dock or NACS adapter.
Things We Love About Ford
Technology
Unlike other EVs, Ford has built many conventional controls that make operating easier while driving.
Speed
Ford has focused on the need for speed with its latest Mach-E. The GT series can go from 0-60 in 4 seconds, comparable to the Porsche 911 GTS.
Towing & Utility
The Ford Lightening has become a fan favorite that needs more utility. Combining a roomy interior with utility functionality such as a spacious truck bed and towing capability, the Ford Lightening offers a unique function to other EV sedans, crossovers and SUVs.
Communities to Check Out
We are committed to bringing the EV community together, and there are some great Ford communities that you can join to get to know others who have already fallen in love with these EVs.
Liv and Patrick are active Southern California EV community members and run the popular YouTube channel “Mach-E Vlog”.
